the holy prophet one day was sitting with his friends. a man came in without permission and salam.
the holy prophet said, "why did you not say salam? why did you not ask for permission? go back then say salam and ask for permission and then come in". he also said, "muslims, you can not go to paradise unless you are kind to each other and you will not be kind to each other unless you say salam to each other. you should always say salam loudly and answer salams loudly. the one who says salam first receives more reward from allah. say salam first then speak".
do you know his name? perhaps he is one of your friends. he tries to learn the islamic manners and practice the guidance of islam. he meets every one warmly with salam and responds cheerfully to those who meet him. he says, "salamun 'alaykum" (may peace be with you) whenever he meets his friends, he shakes hands with them nicely and asks kindly about how his friends do with their activities and work. when others ask him about how he is, he replies with "al-hamdu lillah" meaning, thanks to allah, i am well. when he comes home he says salam to everyone and when he leaves home he says to every one, "be under the protection of allah". he tries to return all the favors done to him and thanks every one who has helped him. when he joins a gathering he says salam properly in a clear audible manner and finds a proper place to sit. he does not stick his fingers in his nose in front of any one, spit around and stretch his legs in front of people sitting around him. he does not speak in the middle of others conversations, speak irrelevant or make a great deal noise and he always speaks nice and properly. when sneezing he covers his mouth and nose and says, al-hamdu lillah", thanks to allah, after sneezing. do you know him?
