all praise is due to god

we know that during prayer (salat) we must recite two suras (chapters) from the qur'an. the first sura is:

"bis millahir rahmanir rahim. al hamdulillahi rabbil 'ala min. ar rahmanir rahim. maliki yawmiddin. iyya ka na'bu du wa eiya ka nasta'in. ihdinassiratal mustaqim. siratalladhina an'amta 'alayhim, ghayril magh dhubi 'alayhim wa la ddalln." the meaning of this is: "in the name of the most merciful, kind god. it is god who deserves all praise. he is the lord of the universe, he is kind and merciful. he is the only master at the day of judgement. god, we worship you alone and we ask for help from you alone. guide us to the right path; the path of those upon whom you have granted your blessings, those who are not subject to your anger (wrath) nor have gone astray." this sura is called the sura of "hamd." from the sura of hamd, we find that: all blessings are from god who has created everything. we must praise and thank him. the reward and punishment of people is in the hands of god. we worship only god and we ask him to guide us to the right path. we should try to memorize the sura of hamd'. after saying the sura of hamd' in our prayers we must say another sura. usually it is the sura of tauheed' which is said, because of its significant theme. "bis millahir rahmanir rahim. qul huwallahu ahad allahussamad. lam yalid wa lam yulad wa lam yakun la hu kufwan ahad. "in the name of the most merciful, kind god. o muhammad, say, " he, allah is one. allah is is independent (of all things). he does have any children and is not borm by anyone. there is no one as his equal."
