This chapter reviews items that are essential to the use and administration of Windows Server 2003. Some of the discussion will be elementary to those already familiar with Windows environments; however, a number of topics are either new or sufficiently enhanced to warrant review. Having read this chapter, the system administrator should have the following:
An understanding of the Windows Server user and administrative interfaces
A working knowledge of the Microsoft Management Console
The ability to work with other administrative tools
The ability to use the greatly expanded Help facility
The skills to find objects with the Search function
Understanding of the other usability enhancements of Windows Server
