OpenType Fonts

The OpenType submenu in the Character palette's flyout menu provides controls for turning on and off features which may be available in OpenType fonts (see Figure 51-3). When you turn on a feature, such as Contextual Alternates, the special characters are applied automatically. If you see a feature listed in square brackets, like "[Swash]," that feature isn't available in the current font. The OpenType User Guide, also included in the Goodies folder of the installation CD, gives detailed suggestions for using Adobe OpenType fonts. Some examples of fine typography produced with these fonts are shown in Figure 51-4.
