Chapter 7. AudioThe Secret to a Great Picture
The Workflow of Editing Audio Editing Audio to the Timeline Trimming Audio Setting Audio Levels Adding Music and Effects Converting Audio Narration and the Voice-Over Tool Mixing Audio
Editing audio for video could fill an entire book just on its own. In many productions, the audio (what people say) is far more important than the visuals (how they look). Yet, far too often, audio is virtually ignored during the production process. In this chapter, you will learn a basic audio editing workflow, how to edit and trim audio clips, set basic audio levels, add music and effects, then mix everything together so it sounds great. Still, for all the audio tools, flexibility, and power that Final Cut provides, keep in mind that in the end, it all comes down to your ears. Be an active listener. Concentrate on building a "sound picture" in your mind using your audio track. Because the better your audio sounds, the better your picture looks. |
