17.5. Summary
This chapter showed you some upcoming technologies that are likely to advance automation of business interactions on top of the Web service infrastructure. Semantic Web technology will support automatic understanding of the functions provided by a Web service. Wiring technology will facilitate recursive aggregation of Web services when ordering of interactions (like in BPEL) is not relevant. Annotating Web services with ordering constraints will allow discovery of interaction partners in case multiple messages must be exchanged and the order of exchange does matter. Contracting technology will support automatic negotiations of service-level objectives and associated payments, providing a key ingredient for creating businesses based on interactions on top of the Web service infrastructure. |
