Two add-on packs, available through Oracle Enterprise Manager
10g, provide you with additional Oracle
Application Server management capabilities. They supplement the
standard functionality by allowing you access to specific, functional
areas within Grid Control.These packs are particularly useful if you need to monitor multiple
Oracle Application Server components. Monitoring multiple components
will help you understand such characteristics of your environment as
web application availability, end-user performance, transaction
performance, on-demand cross-tier transaction performance, and
historical cross-tier application performance.Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Application Server Diagnostics Pack
This pack helps you to identify performance bottlenecks and provides
tools for resolving problems. It enables
ASLM through
end-to-end analysis of
performance across multiple components.
You can measure the performance seen by end users, web server
performance, and transaction processing times. By comparing these
different measurements, you can quickly diagnose where the source of
a performance problem lies. You can also trace transaction paths,
identify bottlenecks such as the slowest URLs and problematic EJBs
and SQL, and understand performance through other components
including servlets, JSPs, and JDBC.
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Application Server Configuration Management Pack
This pack allows you to track current Oracle
Application Server hardware,
operating systems, patches,
and policies, as well as other current software
installations and patches. It also enables automated
cloning
and patching.
