The latest incarnation of Microsoft
OfficeOffice System 2003brings integration with the
.NET Framework that takes developing Office-based solutions beyond
Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Additionally, Microsoft has
released a toolset for Visual Studio that creates six new project
templates to get developers started quickly on creating their
application. Visual Studio Tools for
Office 2003 (VSTO) gives developers the ability to choose C# or
VB.NET to develop document-centric solutions in a managed code
environment and take full advantage of the framework, including XML
integration, Web Services, and Code Access Security.
