Customizing Visual Studio is a great way to get the most out of this
application. Through the course of using an application, you
sometimes realize that it would be a lot easier if there were a
shortcut key for this command or perhaps a toolbar item for that
command. One of the nice things about Visual Studio is that, for the
most part, you can customize just about any part of the IDE.

The hacks in this chapter cover how to create your own shortcut keys,
customize menus and toolbars, create custom windows layouts,
customize the toolbox, and much more.

Visual Studio saves many of its settings only when you exit Visual Studio. This is important to remember if you are running more than one instance of Visual Studio. If you close the version of Visual Studio you have customized before you close the other instance, the latter instance overwrites your changes.
