You can remove a toolbar from the Taskbar or from the side of the screen by dragging it to the middle of the Desktop.The toolbar turns into a floating toolbar window. To dismiss it, just click the X button in its upper right corner.

The Taskbar doesn't have to sit on the bottom of the screen. You can move to the top or sides of your screen simply by unlocking it and dragging it.When you move the Taskbar, everything on it goes with it, including the Start menu and any items you've installed.
