Hide Standard Icons

There are serveral places you can access My Computer, Internet Explorer, and My Documents, so you may not need them cluttering up the Desktop. You can choose to hide some or all of these standard Desktop icons.

Right-click on a blank spot on the Desktop and choose Properties from the pop-up menu.

Click OK to close the Display Properties dialog box.

If you removed all the checkmarks in Step 4, the four standard Windows icons will now be gone from the Desktop.
