Chapter 5. Building a Song
Now that you've learned how to build a beat, it's time to learn more of Reason's instruments and how to build up a complete song.To do this you'll meet new instruments. Some are samplers like the Redrum Drum Computer and will need to be loaded with sounds in order to work. Others, like the SubTractor and the Malström, which we'll cover in this chapter, generate their own sound.Since you started out with rhythm tracks, keep with the same "from the bottom up" strategy with the other instrumentsstart the rest of the song by building a bass line with the SubTractor. Then we'll add some melody with the Malström. |
