17.8 AUDITING

Periodic system audits may be necessary as part of an enterprise-wide security policy. There are features built into most operating systems to enable a system administrator to perform this task. OpenView has a feature for auditing activities performed while operating within the OV application environment. The audit data can also be downloaded with the command opcauddwn or uploaded with the command opcaudupl. We will discuss this in more detail in Chapter 20, "Security."
