Choose File > Save As and save the project using a new name. (I often just use the letters v2 or v3, indicating the version number of the project file.) The benefit to using Save As is twofold: it provides a backup of your file in case something happens to the first one, and Final Cut uses this as an opportunity to straighten out any internal numbers or pointers that may be flaky. Although you can easily make a backup of your file in the Finder, this internal repair can only be accomplished when Final Cut does a Save As. I find myself using this procedure as a backup system during a project, just before final output and just prior to archiving the project. |
