1.4. Windows Update
Finally, I'd like to note the
Windows
Update feature in Windows XP. Since its initial release, Microsoft
has made many updates to the software available on its web site, as
shown in Figure 1-1. These range from simple bug
fixes and security updates to monolithic Service Packs (more on these
in a moment). If you are using Service Pack 2, your computer has
already been configured to download and install new updates
automatically. If not, it's highly recommended that
you regularly run the Windows Update feature, or enable the
Automatic Updates tool so that
you'll never be without the latest fixes. See "Windows Update" for more information.
