The Windows 2000 Boot Process

This chapter introduces you to the Microsoft Windows 2000 boot process. You will learn about the Intel-based boot process, using the Boot.ini file, and creating a Windows 2000 boot disk.

Before You Begin

To complete this chapter, you must have

• A computer that meets the minimum hardware requirements listed in "Hardware Requirements."
• A blank, high-density floppy disk, which you will use to create a Windows 2000 boot disk.
• Windows 2000 Professional installed on the computer.
