Debian is a complex topic and this appendix can't do it justice, but I hope that after reading it you'll have grasped a basic understanding of the concepts most important to Debian systems administration. We like to say that the various Linux distributions are "similar enough to look the same, but different enough to give you a headache." After reading this appendix, you should have be well-prepared to face those problems which most often confront people migrating from Fedora or Red Hat to Debian, such as finding and managing Debian packages and getting extra help when you need it.
