A project plan itemizes the sequence of steps involved in the IPT solution implementation. Good project management smoothens the implementation process by keeping track of all the tasks and making sure they are being performed in a timely fashion by all parties involved.For a large-scale deployment, you should have a project manager who can be a single point of contact for the entire IPT implementation project and who has all the current information about the implementation phase. The responsibilities of the project manager should include the following:Plan the implementation task schedule, including the resource allocation, and build the implementation team.Coordinate with IPT network design engineers, facilities engineers, integration consultants, and other specialists.Coordinate the arrival of deliverables from multiple locations with engineers and installers and oversee communication among all parties.Interact with external vendors such as telephone companies, to place the order for the voice trunks, and Internet service providers, to order additional bandwidth on WAN links.
