Chapter 12. Networking Basics and Naming Services
This chapter is divided into two sections. The first section provides an overview of networking basics from 30,000 feet. It is written as a primer for readers who are not familiar with TCP/IP and related technologies; those experienced with networking may use it as a quick reference. The second section examines naming services, including DNS and DHCP. It provides both theoretical and hands-on information that is vital to all Windows Server 2003 enterprises.
