Designated Coordinators
Some families of N-way coordination protocols require a designated coordinator to shepherd a unit of work through a number of cooperating participant services. One example is when activities must be coordinated between services that are not all expected to be connected at the same time. As long as each participant and the coordinator communicate at some time, coordination can happen and agreement on the outcome can be reached. The Web services architecture defines some simple operations for designated coordinators.
