Chapter 13. Exporting Movies to a Variety of Media

Your movies can be used in a variety of media, from the Web to handheld Pocket PC devices. Captivate movies can be displayed on desktop computers, including those using the Linux operating system (OS), just as easily as they can be added to a PowerPoint presentation, and they can even be turned into stand-alone applications requiring no special software to play.

Captivate movies can be exported in a number of formats, including:

Flash SWF files

Email attachments

PC EXE files

Mac projectors

Linux EXE files

Flash FLA files

Microsoft Word documents

You can also upload Captivate movies to the Web using FTP.

These formats permit your movies to be viewed on:

PC, Mac, and Linux OS computers (desktop and kiosk)

PDAs using Windows CE or Windows Mobile for Pocket PC

PDAs using the Palm OS 4 and 5
