Writing Active Server Page code to interface with Crystal Reports is not much different than writing standard Visual Basic code from the standpoint that the developer has access to the entire RDC for the dynamic display of reports. The developer nevertheless must be aware of the architectural differences between a synchronous client/server environment and an asynchronous web-based environment. The web interface gives the developer an almost zero client install footprint (depending on the viewer chosen) on the end-user machine, and the developer can put together a few simple web pages for the creation of a generic reporting interface that can handle the display of many different types of Crystal Reports.
