the book brought by our prophet
previously, we learned that some of the prophets brought special books from
god for the people.
they called these "revealed books." these contained religious commands and
stories about the lives of some of the prophets.
the book which our holy prophet muhammad brought is called the qur'an. the
qur'an is written in the arabic language. little by little, we should become
familiar with the qur'an and should learn from it.
the qur'an is divided into many parts which are called "suras" (chapters).
each sura is divided into smaller parts called "ayats" (verses).
the qur'an has 114 suras. each begins with "besmellaher rahmaner rahim" which
means: "in the name of the most merciful god."
