victory
muhammad (p.b.u.h.) was born in mecca where he later received revelations
from god as a prophet. for thirteen years he called all the people there
to islam.
some believed in him but those who were selfish, cruel and idol worshippers
did not believe in him. they became his enemies.
the prophet, at the command of god, went to madina so that he could guide
the people there. in madina he found many faithful followers and islam
progressed.
the prophet(p.b.u.h.) always wanted to return to mecca so that he could free
the ka'ba (the qibla or direction which the muslims face during prayer) and
the house of god from all idols.
god sent the following sura and with it the promise of victory for muhammad:
"in the name of the most merciful, kind god. when guidance and victory come
about and when you see the people in large groups embracing the religion
of god, then glorify and praise god and ask forgiveness from him. god is
the acceptor of repentance.
for as long as he lived prophet muhammad thanked and praised god for this
great victory.
