we should try making more friends

nobody is free from the need of having friends. the more kind and sincere
the friends we have the more successful we can become.
one of the scholars has said, "whoever considers himself a person who does
not need any friends, is like a person who says to the sun 'come or go (make
darkness or light), i do not care'."
we should make friends only with those people whose behavior, actions and
sayings are good and those who are serious in doing their schoolwork.
if we become friends with such people we will make more progress; if we make
friends with people who have bad behavior and are lazy, their bad qualities
will rub off onto us; little by little we shall become lazy and bad like
them.
finding friends is not enough. we should try very hard to keep our friendship
with them and be very nice to them.
imam ali, our first imam, has said, "the neediest of all people are those
who cannot find friends, but even needier are those who cannot keep people
as their friends and always lose them.
