In spite of the fact that we have been making fun of UNIX in this book, we are well aware that UNIX actually has some fairly handy programs lying around. In this chapter, we look briefly at some of them. All these programs have a severe case of what is known as Feature Disease (closely related to the greasy fingerprints mentioned in Chapter 2): They all are bristling with features and options. Most of the features and options aren’t worth mentioning, however, so we don’t.
