8.7 Summary In this chapter, we discussed the basics of the Internet email. Using the Mail4ME project as an example, we discussed how to send, receive, and view mobile emails from J2ME devices. Of course, Mail4ME does not have all the features a desktop email client might support due to the size and resource constraints. However, being an Open Source project, it provides a framework that you can extend and to which you can add needed features for your applications. In addition to email solutions, we also introduced standard and third-party libraries for mobile PIM applications. In the last section, we discussed how to use portal servers, particularly the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, to access restricted corporate email and PIM servers. |
