View the Existing Feeds in Safari
Apple has provided a number of RSS feeds to get you started. Experiment with these for a while and then start building your own collection of RSS bookmarks, as described on the following pages.To see the entire list of RSS feeds provided by Apple:
1. | Open Safari, your web browser. |
2. | If the Bookmarks Bar is not showing, press Command Shift B, or go to the View menu and choose "Show Bookmarks Bar." |
3. | Open the Bookmarks Library: Single-click on the little book icon at the far-left end of the Bookmarks Bar (circled, below). |
4. | In the Collections pane, which appears on the left side of the Bookmarks Library, single-click on "All RSS Feeds." The list will appear on the right. You'll see the blue RSS icon for each web site that has a feed.![]() |
5. | Double-click any link to open its feed page. |
View the Collections Apple made for you
Apple has placed two folders, or Collections, of bookmarks in the Bookmarks Bar for you, as shown below: "Apple" and "News." These folders hold small selections from the main list. (I suggest you change this "News" folder to "News rss" so you can distinguish it from the "News" folder that is in the Collections pane for web sites, not feeds.)The folders you drag to the pane of the Bookmarks Bar will appear in the Bar, as shown.358) and each page will display just the headlines for that source.
