Lesson 1. Upgrade Your Mac to Tiger

Goals

Know what to have on hand before you install or upgrade.

Walk through the easy and non-intimidating installation process.

You may have just gotten a brand-new Mac with Tiger already installedin which case you can skip this chapter altogether (except page 14). You might want to read Lesson 2, however, about transferring your files from an old machine to your new one.

If you just got a new DVD with the Tiger installation, Mac OS X version 10.4, then you have a few choices to make before you upgrade. This chapter explains the choices you will need to make along the way and walks you through the process.
