The Final Conform

As with an online session for video, there are a number of elements you should deliver so a negative cutter can successfully assemble the film. Early on, ask what form the cutter wants to get the information in, from the film lists to the delivery of elements. For example, does the cutter require only the film lists in a file, or should you include a printed list? What tape format can they support for the reference tapes of the film?

What you deliver will depend on the circumstances, but you can use the following list as a rough guide:

  • Delivery of elements

  • Conformed work print

  • Tape output of the assembled film

  • Tape output of each sequence matching the cut list for that sequence

  • Film lists of each sequence, printed, and text file

  • Telecine tapes

  • Negative
