Add Transactions (Mac) On the Mac, you enter investment transactions using the Investment Actions window. This lists all of the possible investment transactions. | Begin by clicking the Investing tab on the toolbar, then clicking the Portfolio button, which opens the Portfolio window. If you instead want to do an investment action on a single mutual fund account, choose the account from the Registers pop-up menu on the toolbar, and its register will open. | Choose Activities > Investment Actions. The Investment Actions window appears. Double-click the investment action you want, and the associated action form appears.[View full size image]
1. | Choose the investment account from the Account pop-up menu. | 2. | Enter the transaction date. | 3. | Enter the number of shares you bought. | 4. | Choose the security you want to purchase from the pop-up menu next to Of. This menu lists all the securities you have previously bought. If you are buying a security that is new to your portfolio, Quicken will walk you through a quick Wizard to add the new security. | 5. | Enter the share price in the At field. | 6. | Enter the Commission amount. Quicken calculates the Total Cost. | 7. | Use the Source of Funds pop-up menu to specify where the money for the purchase is coming from. | 8. | If you like, add a Memo. | 9. | Click Record to save your transaction. |
