Deal with DividendsThere are many transactions that can occur in your investment accounts that are not the result of buying or selling shares of securities with cash. The most common are dividends in a portfolio account and capital gains distributions and reinvestments in single mutual fund accounts.To enter these transactions manually, you will use the investment action forms again. On Windows, select the investment account in the Account Bar, click the Transactions tab, then click Enter Transactions. In the investment actions dialog, choose the kind of transaction you need to enter, then fill out the dialog.On the Mac, choose Activities > Investment Actions. The Investment Actions window appears. Double-click the investment action you want, and the associated action form appears. Fill out the form, and click Record.If your financial institution supports it, downloading investment transactions gives you many of the same benefits as online banking, namely less manual entry, better accuracy, and a significant time savings.To download investment transactions on Windows, click the One Step Update button in the toolbar, then choose the accounts that you want to update in the One Step Update dialog, then click Update Now. Quicken will go online, connect to your financial institutions, and download any transactions that are available.Accounts that have downloaded investment transactions that need to be reviewed will be flagged in the Account Bar. ![]() ![]() |
