Summary Linux provides two basic types of interface for you to use when working with your computer: GUI (graphical user interface) and CLI (command-line interface). This chapter describes how to use the CLI, including how to do the following:- Enter commands
- Redirect input and output
- Run commands in the background
- Get help with commands
- Configure the terminal window
In addition, a summary of useful commands is provided. The sort and grep commands are described in detail as examples of command use.In the next chapter, the management of Linux accounts is described. Methods for managing accounts using the desktop and using the CLI are described. |
