Pasting or Placing Graphics


The only way to get a picture into a table cell is to insert it as an inline (anchored) object. Once pasted or placed, it can be manipulated like any inline object. (We discuss what inline objects are and how to work with them in Chapter 69.) This is also true for placing lines, other tables, or any other object inside a table cell. Note, however, that you can also insert a table inside a table cell by choosing Insert Table from the Table menu.

We've found that you'll get the most control over the process if you place your graphic on the page first and scale it to the approximate size of the cell

before you paste it into a table cell. You should also consider setting the row height, cell alignment, and clipping options for the cell

before placing the graphic, as described below.
