You can use third-party tools to enhance both the development and runtime environments of your Access applications. In terms of the development environment, third-party tools can be used to add error handling, comments, and naming standards to the code that you write, as well as to facilitate the process of building SQL statements, property procedures, and other logical constructs. ActiveX controls are used to greatly enhance the functionality of your forms and reports, and to improve the overall user experience in working with your application.I find that third-party tools produced by reputable vendors are worth significantly more than the price that you pay for them! The tools from my two favorite vendors of third-party Access tools are available at http://www.fmsinc.com and http://www.dbi-tech.com. In fact, after you begin to use some of the tools out there, I believe that you will never again be able to write Access applications without them.
