As you may already know, you can press on the Back or Forward button to show a menu of the web sites you've already visited since you opened the browser. Choose a site in the list to open it in Safari.Press on the Back or Forward button to show a pop-up menu of the web pages you've visited, showing web page titles.[View full size image]


Access web sites from the Address Book menu
If your Address Book (see Chapter 16) info contains web site addresses, you can access those web sites directly from the Bookmarks Bar. The next page explains how to put the Address Book menu in the Bookmarks Bar.[View full size image]

Choose a site from the History menu
To choose from a list of the sites you visited within the past week, click the History menu. If you had Private Browsing turned on (see page 374), the History menu contains no visited sites.[View full size image]

To put the Address Book menu in your Bookmarks Bar
1. | Open the Safari Preferences (go to the Safari menu and choose "Preferences…"). |
2. | Click the "Bookmarks" button in the toolbar to open the pane shown below. |
3. | After "Bookmarks Bar:" checkmark "Include Address Book." |

1. | Open Address Book and select a contact. |
2. | Click the "Edit" button. |
3. | From the Card menu choose "Add Field," and from the submenu choose "URL" (Uniform Resource Locatorthe technical term for a web address). The "home page" item appears in the Address Book contact information. Type a web address, then click the "Edit" button to set the changes. |
