  • Chapter 16. Address Book

The Address Book is a separate application that works with Mail. Save your favorite email addresses and contact information, enter an email address with the click of the mouse, make a mailing list (a Group) to send a message to a number of people at once, create Smart Groups that add contacts to themselves automatically, and much more.

Are you a .Mac member? If so, once you've got a great Address Book underway, you can share it with other .Mac members.

You can even copy your entire Address Book list of contacts onto your iPodplease see pages 126127 for that because you'll use iTunes to do it.

The Address Book works both independently and with Mail to create Address Cards (also known as vCards) that store contact information for individuals or groups. When Mail is open, you can automatically create an Address Book entry for anyone who has sent mail to you.411.
