  • Create a Music DVD

How about creating a music DVD with visuals for a party or special event? Or just to impress your friends.

    1.

Click the "Customize" button to open the Customize drawer, then click the "Themes" button.

    2.

Select a theme, click the "Slideshow" button, then double-click the new slideshow button to open the Slideshow editor.

    3.

In the Customize drawer, click the "Media" button, then choose "Audio" from the pop-up menu.

    4.

Drag an iTunes playlist from the Media pane to the Slideshow editor's Audio well. Set "Slide Duration" to "Fit To Audio." Click the "Loop slideshow" checkbox to make the final DVD repeat.

If you want to show photos (or graphic images of any kind) while the music plays, drag photos or a folder of photos from the Media pane (or from any Finder window), into the Slideshow editor.

A DVD can hold a lot of music files, but check the Status pane (page 212) to make sure you have enough room for all of the songs and pictures you may have dragged to the Slideshow editor.

You can also display just one image, such as a list of the songs playing. Create a graphic of the song list in a graphics application. Make it 640 x 480 pixels, 72 ppi, and save it as a JPEG. Drag the graphic into the Slideshow editor. The graphic will be displayed as the playlist plays.
