Post-Implementation Documentation

After you complete IPT implementation, the project management team should document all equipment for asset-tracking purposes. The deployment team should complete documentation that includes the following items. Proper documentation helps in maintaining and operating the network.

Updated IPT network topology diagram

Serial numbers of all IPT devices

CallManager/application server configurations, software versions, and passwords

Call-processing backup or failover strategy

Ethernet switch and router configurations

IP address plan and VLAN assignments

Carrier and circuit ID of all WAN links

Gatekeeper or bandwidth control mechanism

Asset tagging

Cable labeling

Customer acceptance certification and sign-off
