Lava Type

My kids love volcanoes, so I started wondering if I could create type that looked like lava was melting it.In Technique 47, I started with black type set in the Impact font, rasterized the type, and then used the Liquify filter to make the type look like it was melting.Next, I added a new layer and used the Freeform Pen tool to create a path that looked like dripping lava and filled it with bright red. Then, I applied an Outer Glow and Bevel & Emboss to the red lava to give it texture.Finally, I went back to the liquified type and added an outer glow to make it look red-hot.
