COMPUTER CENTER RECOVERY
One of the most common strategies is the selection of a method of recovering computer capabilities. Quite obviously, this is the central concern for recovering a healthcare organization, since no matter how the new way of doing business is defined; it relies on the existence of computers. The strategy selections include: internal recovery, commercial hot-site / cold-site arrangements, reciprocal agreements, interim and/or manual procedures, reduction of service response, or suspension of services. Alternatives are heavily dependent upon the identified recovery time objectives. The less time available for the recovery, the more toward the top of the above list you must move. This also implies a greater cost. This cost must be weighed against the "bet on the table" or the profitability impact of the loss of service.
