Online ResourcesThere is a wealth of online resources available to the Final Cut editor. However, here are several that I want to point out that I've found especially useful:
Lynda.com offers online video-based tutorials on Apple Compressor, LiveType, Soundtrack, Garage Band, OS X, previous versions of Final Cut, as well as other applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Macromedia Flash, Discreet 3ds Max, and other ancillary applications that are a valuable part of your video production toolkit. My personal Web site (www.larryjordan.biz). I started this Web site to provide training and information on Final Cut that I couldn't find anywhere else. It has grown into a full-fledged Final Cut Pro information and support Web site. I also publish a free, monthly Final Cut Pro newsletter packed with useful tips and techniques. Visit my Web site to subscribe. All of the articles referenced in this chapter can be found here. Apple's Final Cut Pro Web site (www.apple.com/finalcutpro). News and tech support on Final Cut from Apple itself. Need I say more? L. A. Final Cut Pro User Group (www.lafcpug.org). Everything you ever wanted to know about Final Cut. Excellent forums for getting your questions answered. Ken Stone.net (www.kenstone.net). Everything you never knew you never knew about Final Cut. Another outstanding site. An incredibly strong international viewership, with excellent forums for getting questions answered. FinalCutProPlanet (www.finalcutproplanet.com). Arguably the oldest FCP site, predating everything else listed here, started by the venerable (and esteemed) Josh Mellicker. Their forums and training programs are excellent. Ripple Training (www.rippletraining.com). Great training resources from one of Apple's Lead Trainers: Steve Martin. Creative Cow.net (www.creativecow.net). This site covers virtually every known creative tool. Worth visiting on a regular basis simply for the breadth of tools it covers. |
