Adjusting user preferences: Lesson 4-2


Lesson 1).

Lesson 4-1. You should be in the New Project menu, with the Load Preset window open.

If you continued past this point and are already in the Premiere Pro workspace, and you selected a DV preset that matches your source material, fine. Otherwise, return to the New Project menu by selecting File > New > Project.

Select a DV preset that matches your source material (probably DV-NTSCStandard or Widescreen48kHz).

Give your project a nameI suggest

Lesson 4 [your name] and click OK. That takes you to the Premiere Pro 2.0 user interface.

Select Edit > Preferences > General from the Main Menu.


Note

You can select any of the Preferences submenus. All choices take you to the main Preferences menu with the submenu you selected open. You can easily move from one submenu to another by clicking the submenu name.

Click each submenu name in turn to check out the Preferences options. You will encounter some fairly obscure possibilities here.



Preferences submenus


These rarely come into play in the early stages of Premiere Pro usage, and most are self-explanatory. I'll leave it to you to look up specifics in the Premiere Pro Help files. Here's a brief run-through:

  • General Primarily Lesson 1. Set the interface brightness here.
