Getting started
You've seen the Motion effect in action already in this book. You used its Rotation feature to test Keyframe Interpolation and you've seen how it can zoom and pan still images. As you watch TV advertisements, you're bound to see videos with clips flying over other images or clips that rotate onscreenstarting as small dots and expanding to full-screen size. You can create those effects using the Motion fixed effect or several clip-based effects with motion settings. You use the Motion effect to position, rotate, or scale a clip within the video frame. You can make those adjustments directly in the Program Monitor by dragging to change its position, or by dragging or rotating its handles to change its size, shape or orientation. You can also adjust Motion parameters in the Effect Controls panel and animate clips using keyframes and Bezier controls.
