Compressed folders. Windows XP can Zip- or NTFS-compress folders, conserving disk space. Windows Explorer displays the contents of compressed folders just as it does normal folders. See "Compressing Files and Folders" in Chapter 5.Offline files. You can store copies of your network files on your laptop's local disk and continue to work with them when you're disconnected from the network. Windows resynchronizes the files automatically when you reconnect. See "Making Network Files and Folders Available Offline" in Chapter 5.
