Everyone knew it was only a matter of time, and now, finally, it's happened. In 3ds max 7, character studio, discreet's procedural character animation plugin, is now included as part of the base package. Every user who has 3ds max 7 will have a fully authorized copy of character studio.

So what is character studio? What's the big deal?

character studio (cs) is a powerful character animation plugin for 3ds max developed by Unreal Pictures, now owned by discreet. 3ds max, unlike many programs, is essentially a place for plugins to interact, and character studio was the first plugin to prove the power of the concept. It lets anyone create character animation instantly.
