VertexPaint Modifier ImprovementsThe VertexPaint modifier has improved its Adjust Color dialog and added a new Color Palette feature. Let's briefly look at these. Adjust Color DialogThe Adjust Color dialog is for adjusting the Hue, Saturation, Value, Red, Green, and Blue attributes of any color. You can now adjust the Contrast and Shadow, Gamma, and Highlight levels from a histogram, which gives you interactive control and a better grasp of the overall states of these color aspects. The histogram shows how the colors in the vertex selection are distributed based on their Shadow, Gamma (mid-tone), and Highlight input levels. The spinners control the arrows to the left and right (Figures 3.18, 3.19, and 3.20). Figure 3.18. A Plane object with the Adjust Color dialog, adjusted with the histogram. The Gamma is set to 1.0. The Palette can be saved and loaded as a Color Clipboard (CCB) file. You can drag and drop colors from anywhere to a Color Clipboard floater and save it to be loaded into the Vertex Color Palette. The new Copy and Paste features (right-click) are available for editing colors (Figure 3.21). Figure 3.21. The Color Palette allows you to save colors in a convenient location.![]() |
