Chapter 3. Layout Enhancements
FileMaker layouts are the connection between you, the database developer, and the users who will actually work with the database you've designed. An elegantly designed zdatabase with awkward layouts will lead to input errors that eat away at efficient use. Such a database can actually be less useful than the efforts of a beginner whose layouts are clear and carefully created. In this chapter, we explore several tools like pop-up lists and check boxes that facilitate data entry and viewing, as well as advanced techniques to help create properly constructed layouts, speed up data entry, eliminate entry errors, clarify the meaning of the data, and make the data easier to read.
