Using This Book
We hope youre no stranger to Peachpits Visual QuickStart series. This book shares the QuickStart format, but differs in intent and material. QuickStart guides offer comprehensive feature-by-feature coverage of a software program. In this book we assume that youre familiar with how the program works because youre already using it. We also assume that youre a user who has the potential to become a FileMaker developer, but needs some guidance in making the jump between basic features and hard-core corporate development. Instead of exhaustive coverage of features, we concentrate on the practical ins and outs of situations you might run into while you work.Because were covering more complicated information, this book has some tasks that are a little longer than the QuickStart usual. We occasionally use sidebars to give you a little background on a topic, because we believe that when you have background knowledge, its easier to apply general instructions to your specific situation.
