Windows and Macintosh
Although we've used a lot of Windows screen shots to illustrate this book, it very seldom matters what platform you use with FileMaker Pro 7. Except for some ODBC/JDBC differences, an occasional dialog box, and a few actions (like saving files and printing) that are different because of the operating system, everything in FileMaker is exactly the same on both platforms. With very few exceptions, any FileMaker Pro database will transfer seamlessly back and forth between platforms, and can be updated over a network by people working on either type of computer. When one of these exceptions crops up (as they will in a few places), we'll point them out to you so you can be prepared.
